Pricing & FAQ

Like my prints (personally), I like the price of things I buy to be in black and white. So I have set clear prices below where packages are set, or set out a scale where there are variations.

I work on a single fee basis.  This means for one price you'll get a full gallery of high-resolution images that are yours to download and keep. You won't have to pick and choose.

Every shoot is uniquely tailored to you. My aim is to give you a stunning gallery that truly reflects the character of you, your family, your event or your business. I will ask you some questions in advance and plan the shoot with your answers in mind. My fee includes all preparation and hints and tips so that you can be ready to get the most out of the shoot.

FAQ

Do you have a studio?

A. I do not have a studio and prefer to shoot portraits in natural settings, with natural light. I think this helps people relax and produces a more unique set of images. This is my preferred style. However for headshots I am able to bring backdrops and lighting to your home, or offer that in my home.

When will we get our photos?

A. Your will receive an online gallery link with all your photos within maximum 4 weeks (sometimes less depending on the season I photograph your story). You can download all the photos from the gallery but also share them, choose your favorites, and also order prints!

How many pictures will we receive?

A. I like to give you as many images as I am happy with from your shoot. A guaranteed minimum number is set out in the pricing for each session, but in practice I often provide more. However I always choose quality rather than quantity and that's why I don't indicate a maximum number - I will choose the best and more significant photos to tell your story.

do you 'photoshop' images?

A. I will use light-touch editing tools to sharpen eyes, brighten teeth and smooth skin, and remove distracting background objects, where necessary. However I will not seek to achieve 'airbrushed' skin, fill thinning hair on men or change anyones shape. I think you're perfect as you are and my job is to show it. If there is anything you are particularly concerned about with your appearance we will discuss that during your consultation phone call and work around that during the shoot.

What if my kids act up?

A. I get it. My kids will not sit together and look at a camera, even when faced with a considerable bribe! This is partly why I don't work in a studio. If you want happy, authentic portraits of your kids then I find the best way to achieve that is to put them in an environment where they are happy. We will discuss this during our preparation call. Sometimes a shoot can seem like chaos, however my job is to capture the moments in between that chaos. I almost expect it. Please don't let this be a barrier to getting some beautiful new family photos.

Does my house have to be perfect for an in-home shoot?

A. No. During our preparation call we will discuss a couple of areas near good sources of natural light for you to prepare on the day. I may ask you to make the beds and get some fresh flowers in. However if you have a newborn the last thing you need to be worrying about is cleaning and tidying. It's my job to spot any rogue packets of nappies in the background and move them. As you will see from my portfolio I have shot in a range of homes and often it's in small corners where little else is visible.

Do you do shoots in Bushy Park?

A. Bushy Park is just an incredible place for photography. I love to photograph my own family there and in the winter will be there for sunrise most weekends to capture wildlife. I am happy to offer shoots there but I do comply with their requirement for a permit for the shoot. This comes at a cost of £120 which you will need to cover in addition to the cost of the shoot. I will also not photograph children in the open spaces of the park during the rut in the autumn.

Do you do mini-shoots?

A. Mini-shoots are short, sharp sessions in a set location where I photograph 5 or 6 sets of clients back-to back. You receive 5 images. They are a great way to get a quick update to framed photos and they represent exceptional value. I do offer them a couple of times a year when the weather looks steady, but they are not a regular part of my business. Existing clients get first refusal, then clients on my mailing list. Message me if you would like to join my mailing list for minis.

Do you do wall art and albums?

A. Yes. You are under no obligation to buy them through me but I have supplier relationships with two fine art printers in the UK. Both of my suppliers produce beautiful, museum-grade products and work sustainably. I would be happy to talk to you about what's possible after you have seen your gallery. It's not uncommon that clients come back a few months after their shoot to get an album or a piece of wall art as a present for their partner.
